The sightseeing spot for Sakura in Nemuro city is “Seiryuji Temple”. The Sakura blooming from mid-May to the end of May every year is famous as “the latest blooming Sakura in Japan”.

2. SYMBOL OF NEMURO

Around thirty trees of “Chishima-zakura (a type of Sakura)” are planted here. There is a big Chishima zakura which is about 150 years old among the trees, and it is designated as the symbolic tree of Nemuro city.
